Event Description

The RSPB are offering free conservation based team-building activity days at Dove Stone Reservoir throughout 2012 to businesses in and around Oldham.

We’ve lots of different activities to offer and you’ll be the spending the day with our experienced and knowledgeable staff.  You and your colleagues could be out in the fresh air planting trees,  helping to create a wildflower meadow,  working to restore the important and interesting habitat of the peat-bog,  be out bracken-bashing or making nest boxes,  to name just a few possibilities !

Our conservation activity days are not only excellent for team building but they are also a good opportunity for people to develop new skills or enhance existing ones.   They’re also a lot of fun and you and your organisation will be giving something back to the local community and helping with the RSPB’s work to improve Dove Stone for all wildlife.

Thanks for the feedback, David.  Dove Stone is a really great place and we ( ie,  the RSPB ) are really keen to build relationships with local businesses who feel that they want to give something back to a brilliant resource that's right on our doorstep.  And to have some fun in the proceeds,  of course !!

Our conservation based team building events start from now so if you're thinking of a particularl date then let me know ! They usually take place during the working week rather than weekends.  The days usually run from around 10am to 4pm.  They're fun days and they work best with around a minimum of 10 people and we usually like to have no more than 20 people but we have some flexibility on that.  Activities are varied:  everything from helping re-plant woodlands,  planting wildflowers,  making nestboxes,  days out on the blanket-bog working on eroded areas of peat,  to drystone walling.

Hope thatn helps !

This is a great idea and sounds really interesting.  Can you tell me more details e.g. dates, times, numbers, activities please as I may have an organisation interested in this - say March time?     Thanks
