One of my closest friends is organising a fund-raising gala evening in aid of a Thai orphanage after she did some voluntary work there earlier this year. The children who live at the orphanage were all orphaned in the tsunami and the staff are desperate for equipment.
I have said I will do whatever I can to help my friend organise her event, which will be held at Tara Leisure, Shaw, on Friday, November 12th. There will be entertainment for adults and children, a hot supper of potato pie or Thai green curry and a separate children's buffet. Tickets are £15 for adults and £7.50 for children.
Hanna has written to loads of businesses to ask for donations of raffle prizes and items to auction. she has had a few generous donations, including a helicopter ride, a meal for two and a portrait sitting, but she really needs more. Every business that donates will be credited on the night and we hope to get some good publicity for the event too.
So, I have three asks really:
1. Could you donate an item or a service that can be raffled off on the night?
2. Would you like to buy any tickets for the event?
3. Has anyone got a projector we could borrow for the evening as we want to show slides of the orphanage and acknowledgement of the donors?
If anyone can hep in any way please get in touch.
Thanks,
Lisa
