Clear policy and practice to include both emotional and physical health are crucial and adopting a  'whole company approach' is key.  Sickness and absence policies work best when all those expected to follow them have been consulted in their development.   It's not just about managers monitoring levels of sickness absence, it is also about organisations having sound policies in place that enable all employees to follow clear processes, ones that make clear the expectations of all and include support services. Listening to people,  supporting their well-being, valuing their contribution and providing training and development opportunities will all help to improve motivation and productivity.  A workplace where co-operation, collaboration and teamwork is important, is more likely to result in a happy workplace and, happy people tend to be healthier people.

This event is a really good opportunity to improve the wellbeing of employees, whilst also increasing staff morale. If your organisation is not big enough to enter a team of 4 participants, why not enter an OBN team?

Please do let everyone you know about the TRY-athlon. Thanks!
