Why did I create Oldham Business Network?
Let's see, I wanted to create an open, friendly environment where we could share our experiences, knowledge and contacts to support the local business community. I came up with the idea back in 2009 after winning the young entrepreneur of the year award at the One Oldham Business Awards.
While at the awards I was impressed to see all the local businesses in one room sharing the experience. I though to myself, this is great but what happens after the awards, will they all just go back to their day to day tasks or will they stay in touch? The solution was pretty straight forward to me, use the power of the Internet and current technologies to connect these people together 24/7 and create an online community.
