Why women absolutely cannot have it all.

I shall start by apologising to those women (and I know there will be some) who disagree with me on this subject, but I am willing to bet you have yet to sample motherhood. I am actually a little tired of hearing that we women can have everything we want in life, if we are only willing to put in the effort. It is simply not true.Life, if you are trying to combine work and motherhood, is one long series of compromises and sacrifices. Women who choose to make business their priority will no doubt…See More

Describe your business
I am a qualified make-up artist and photographer. I find the two strings fit together quite nicely and have allowed me to launch Pamper and Pose parties - various themed parties to suit any occasion, centred around a makeover and professional photoshoot for each guest. I am a location photographer specialising in a relaxed, informal style of portrait photographer. I love to get outdoors whenever possible to photograph children and families in natural settings. I find it puts my clients much more at ease than they would be under studio lights.

Pink hair - welcome in the boardroom or just for the red carpet?

Posted on February 12, 2013 at 10:06 0 Comments

I'm sure everyone saw Helen Mirren's bold pink hair on the red carpet at the Baftas. It prompted me to write a little blog on the subject. It also got me thinking about the whole issue of image in business because, if I'm honest, I've always secretly fancied trying out pink hair.

When I worked in the corporate world it was never…

World Mental Health Day

I've posted it everywhere else, so I might as well post it here too. Here's where I 'confess' to being one of the 25% of people whose lives are blighted by depression. You don't see too many business people admitting to being members of the club. So what do you think? Have I dropped a commercial clanger with my World Mental Health Day blog?…
