Most people have heard of Apprenticeships, even if they relate them to the model that was commonplace up to the 1960s of a 4 year craft apprenticeship in plumbing or engineering etc. Nowadays, there are almost 200 vocational areas offered as an apprenticeship, and due to the current state of the UK economy, Apprenticeships are a key element of the Government's plans for tackling youth unemployment.
