The first meeting went really well, I gave an overview on types of business support along with a few promotions:
Free public procurement training from the council- how to tender for public sector contracts;
Market stall incentives, including support with fit outs and test trading;
Oldham Coliseum kind offer for drama workshops, good for good body language and confidence;
if your interested in any of these let me know.
Ghazala Koosar promoted some good online resources:
www.oldhambusinessnetwork.com :)
Alison Hornsby from the Enterprise Centre then talked about the importance of project planning when starting your business with a mass of energy and enthusiasm. She also explored enterprise and what it takes to get going, hard work, determination, taking risk, not being afraid to fail, etc. Lets hope those that attended define there project for the next meeting :)
Will Preston from Support Learning Solutions was also on hand to promote his free basic IT training courses. He will be attending the next few meetings as well, and Dean from Blue Orchid was there offering support.
If you want to support Oldham's enterprise club contact me or if you know somebody who would benefit from the club let me know.
