Oldham Business Network wins Pride in Oldham Award

Business category award winner

We are pleased to announce Oldham Business Network won an award on Friday at the Pride in Oldham Award Ceremony 2011. The ceremony took place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall to celebrate outstanding achievements in eleven categories including the Business category, which we won!

The Oldham Evening Chronicle launched the awards ceremony back in 2002 and the 33 finalists this year were chosen by independent judges and Chronicle readers.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Oscar-style ceremony and we would like to thank everyone involved in the event, they do a fantastic job! ... that includes you Steve Duthie :-)

We would like to congratulate all 33 finalists. We were truly humbled to be in the company of some truly inspiring people.

Oldham Business Network members – thank you

Personally I would like to thank Phil Kelly and Tom Yates from Purple Giraffe and my team at CandidSky for their help in setting the network up and believing in the idea.

To all the OBN moderators, Lisa GeeTina WhiteheadAndy Hall and Ian Dunkerley thank you for your continued support in helping us run this site.

I would also like to thank the Oldham Evening Chronicle and Oldham Council for their recent support and interest in helping this community.

Finally and most importantly I'd like to thank every single member of this community and hope this network continues to be a valuable resourse for your business.

I stumbled upon OBN in the first few days of its existence and joined up. That turned out to be one of the best things I ever did. I have learned a lot and done a fair amount of business. A few months ago I was honoured to be asked to become a moderator. I am delighted that OBN has won this award, it is so well deserved and I am sure the network will continue to flourish, especially after all the positive publicity.

But the best thing of all about Oldham Business Network? The friendships I have made. Without doubt OBN's greatest strength. I couldn't have been prouder stood on that stage on Friday night. It was an absolute honour to be there.

So proud of what the OBN has achieved so far.
I'm delighted to play a part in the success and thank you to everyone, especially Dave, Tom and Phil.
Being on stage with such inspiring award winners on the evening was fantastic.
